SBA names Griggs 2004 Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year

The Small Business Administration honored Charles Griggs, president of the Griggs Agency, as its Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year for the North Florida region during an annual awards luncheon last week. The ceremony was produced in conjunction with Small Business Week, a national observance.

Griggs was honored because of his volunteer efforts beyond business and professional responsibilities to advocate minority small business interests in the community and state.

Griggs works with various community groups and boards to help promote minority business interest including the Florida Black Business Investment Board and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Small Business Center. He also teaches marketing classes for small businesses through the University of North Florida Small Business Development Center.

Griggs can also be seen and heard advocating for minority businesses through his column in the Jacksonville Free Press. He also host First Coast Forum a weekly public affairs radio program on 105.7 FM, 92.5 FM and 105.3 FM. And that’s not all, Griggs makes bi-monthly appearances on WJCT’s Jacksonville Exchange: Week in Review television and radio broadcasts.
